Meteorology of the Mind
Discover the making of a view

You notice, remember and anticipate. A view takes shape, so familiarly that it feels like simply seeing.

Meteorology of the Mind is the planned perception deep dive in The Hidden Hero’s Journey™. Through the weather of your inner geography, it explores how that picture forms and what helps you look from somewhere new.

What lies beyond your present view?

You can picture the next familiar step. Beyond it, the future looks blank. It is easy to mistake that edge for the end of what is possible.

Then someone shows you a way of living you had never encountered. A skill gives you access to a different kind of work. A missing fact changes the options.

The book explores how the view opens, and what you need in order to find out whether a newly visible route is one you can actually take.

The weather helps you see the seeing

A sky belongs to a landscape, but it changes how the landscape appears. Light draws your attention. Fog limits the distance. A storm can make every movement seem urgent.

These images give you ways to notice attention, uncertainty and pressure without treating them as the whole world.

You can get to know the view and the conditions that helped make it, then look again.

“I don’t know yet” can be an honest answer, even when you would very much prefer another one.

Meet the weather you are thinking in

Where you cannot see far enough, the Fog Bank helps you mark the edge of what is known. The Lens then asks how you are interpreting the part you can see.

A cancelled plan might bring rejection into focus. Another view might reveal exhaustion, unreliability or a practical obstacle. Each suggests different questions; the event helps you judge which account holds.

The Horizon Line carries this exploration towards possibility. What have you mistaken for impossible because it was not yet visible from where you stood?

Let a story complicate the explanation

Imagine reading the same encounter through two characters. You understand the first completely. Then the second knows something the first never saw.

A story can give you that delicious disturbance. A poem can catch the rhythm of the thought you keep repeating. An explanation can help you name what changed.

The planned book brings those forms together, then returns the question to you: what would you ask, check or try in the situation waiting beyond the page?

Bring a thought you would like to know better

Bring a view you know well. Perhaps it concerns a relationship, your future or what people like you can expect from life.

The planned book gives you ways to explore how it formed: through story, poetry, writing and practical inquiry. You can follow what comes into focus, what recedes and what changes when another perspective joins yours. This title stands on its own.

What the inquiry opens

How attention makes some details vivid while others recede

Where expectation fills the gaps in what you know

What helps you revise a view and discover a possibility you could not see before

Nine chapters, with room to return

The planned nine chapters follow the making of a view: the conditions of attention, the meanings you give what you notice, and the possibilities your present position lets you see.

There is room to recognise a familiar forecast, question its reach and let new information change the picture. The exploration returns to choices and encounters where a revised understanding can meet life.

Questions
and answers

You can influence how you attend, interpret and respond. That can change your experience and help you discover another possible action.

The world also answers back. People have their own intentions, events have consequences, and some limits need practical change. A useful inner map stays open to that information.

It gives different conditions a form you can recognise. Fog helps you notice missing information. A storm helps you notice pressure. A changing horizon helps you ask what another position might reveal.

You can then ask which condition matters here, and what would help you see more. The image starts the exploration; what you find in your actual experience helps you judge its usefulness.

Yes. You can explore Sky now, with a guided inquiry and related reading on the domain page. Bring your own journal or notes. Work on the books is planned for 2027; the resources here give you somewhere to begin while they take shape.

Inside the deep dive

The nine-chapter design brings poetry, short fiction and imaginal journeys together with psychological explanation. Writing and practices with body, voice and artistic expression offer different ways to explore what you recognise.

Circle gives that exploration a beginning and an ending. You choose what to spend time with, how close to come and when to return to the rest of your day. A question can wait for you.

A book taking shape

Meteorology of the Mind is one of six planned guided deep dives in The Hidden Hero’s Journey™. Work on the books is planned for 2027; this page introduces the territory and literary direction.

You can explore perception now through the domain page and its guided inquiry.

Bring the concern you still take seriously

Perhaps you know the sting of being told you are imagining something that really is happening. Perhaps you also know the relief of discovering that your worst interpretation was not the whole story.

There is room for both experiences here. We can look carefully without requiring a happy ending. Sometimes what becomes clearer is the question to ask. Sometimes it is the boundary you want to keep.

You might recognise this

You are curious about how a moment acquires its meaning

You want to notice which parts of a picture come from observation, memory and expectation

You would like to discover what another vantage point could make visible

Begin with something you can recognise

Choose a moment you would like to understand. Describe it in your notes, then separate what you noticed from what you remembered or expected.

You have begun to see the making of the view. The perception domain page offers a complete guided exercise for mapping those connections and considering what information could help you revise them.

Six doorways into what happens within you

Your inner geography has several kinds of terrain. Identity gives a familiar shape to “me”. Perception forms a view. Emotional life has conditions in which feelings grow or withdraw. Instinct follows routes that can begin before words. Cultural inheritance carries a world into your own. Awareness lets you notice these experiences together.

The six domains offer different ways to explore how that world takes shape. You can begin where you are curious.

We call this Reality Literacy: becoming more intimate with experience while examining how it acquires meaning. You can help reshape your inner world and keep learning from the people, circumstances and consequences beyond it.

One question can open several doorways

Perception explores how a view forms. Awareness lets you notice that view alongside feeling, sensation and what is happening around you.

You can follow a connection into another domain when it helps you understand the whole more clearly. There is no required order through this geography.

There may be more here than you thought

Come with a view you would like to understand. On the perception domain page, you can begin noticing how it forms and what would let you look from somewhere new.
