You can admire a result without wanting the work that produces it. You can also dismiss an interest simply because it isn’t impressive enough to announce.

Do you want the book, or do you want to write it?

Both may be true. But the image of being published doesn’t tell you how you feel about spending mornings with sentences.

Give the activity some reality. A page, a conversation with someone doing it, a small experiment. You may discover a deeper interest or a different wish beneath the attractive result.
