Inner map

An inner map is a way of organising and exploring your experience so that you can recognise patterns, distinctions and connections within it.

An inner map is a way of organising and exploring your experience so that you can recognise patterns, distinctions and connections within it.

It doesn’t need to explain everything about you. A useful map helps with the part of life you are trying to understand now.

A familiar place can ask a new question.

You notice that a creative decision brings the same guilt as declining a family request. The circumstances differ. The expectation that someone else must be comfortable before you choose may be familiar.

A map lets you follow that connection without deciding the two situations are identical.

The Three Hero Journeys of the I AWAKE universe offer different maps. The Sensual Hero’s Journey has nine destinations, the Creative Hero’s Journey has three realms, and the Hidden Hero’s Journey has six domains. Books, audio and guided practices let you spend time in the places that interest you.

You can move between books from different series. The map supports the exploration; it doesn’t confiscate your sense of direction.

Inner geography explains the place imagery. Reality Literacy asks how you keep an interpretation open to the actual details of your life.
