The capacity to work with inner images, scenes and symbolic material as forms of experience that can reveal associations and possibilities without requiring literal belief.

Imagination & inner imagery is the capacity to engage with images that arise within experience without reducing them to either nonsense or prophecy.

An image can gather memory, mood, association, desire and possibility into one scene. Its usefulness does not depend on proving that it came from somewhere supernatural.

An image can matter without becoming an oracle.

This capacity involves staying close enough to an image to notice what changes as you attend to it: what feeling appears, what memory it touches, what perspective it opens, and what remains uncertain.
