You keep calling it someday

It keeps calling you

I Was Born for More by Camilla Wellton, I AWAKE Creative Hero's Journey book cover

The sensible plan is good

So why does this other idea feel so alive

Maybe it is a book. A business. A body of work. A different way of using your life.

You have imagined it in the shower, left pieces of it in your notes and gone back to being very good at everything else.

I Was Born for More is an illustrated, guided Creative Immersion in Possibility, part of The Creative Hero’s Journey by Camilla Wellton. It helps you explore what you actually want to make and begin giving it a place in your life.

Not a declaration of destiny. A real beginning.

The Creative Hero’s Journey by I AWAKE

Not every big dream is yours

Some ideas stay anyway

Some ambitions arrive with somebody else’s applause attached. Some are a way to prove you were never small. Others belong to the person you thought you were supposed to become.

And then there is the idea that remains interesting when nobody is watching.

The book helps you get close enough to explore the difference. What attracts you to the work itself, rather than the life you imagine having after it succeeds?

Pleasure counts. Curiosity counts. You do not need an impressive reason to find out.

Read it
Hear it
Try it

This is not a book you only read. Short, relatable teachings lead into guided practices on the page and through my recorded guidance. You write, listen, notice, imagine, move and sometimes draw.

The written guidance helps you give the idea a form. My voice and the original music offer a different way to explore it, including the Circle, I AWAKE’s guided imaginal encounter.

Then you bring something back to your actual work. A sentence. A sketch. A conversation. An hour you finally protect.

The point is not to collect more inspiration. It is to have something you can use.

My voice and music composed especially for the I AWAKE universe accompany the practices. The scripts use a deliberate pace, pauses and sequence designed to help your nervous system settle, with room to notice your own response.

Understand the hesitation

Without handing it the decision

Why can an exciting idea become ‘unrealistic’ the moment you consider acting on it? And when is that hesitation pointing to a real constraint that deserves a better plan?

The teachings draw on psychological research, including interoception – noticing signals from inside your body – and attachment patterns, alongside essential knowledge about how your nervous system works.

These ideas arrive through recognisable situations, not a lecture you have to translate yourself. You practise noticing a response, considering what it might mean and choosing your next step. A tight stomach is information to explore, not a verdict on your future.

From a beautiful someday
To something you can try

The finished novel is one picture. Spending a morning writing is another. The business launch is one moment. Making something useful for an actual customer is part of the life around it.

You bring an idea close enough to try: open the document, sketch the first version, ask one useful question or make a little room in the week.

You can notice what draws you towards the work, what makes you pull back and what support would help you continue.

You are not committing your whole future. You are giving an interest enough reality to answer back.

One real idea

Nine chapters to meet it

Carry one idea through nine chapters. It can be a project already underway or something that has not yet found its shape.

Teaching, written practice and my recorded guidance and original music give you different ways to meet the same question. What becomes clearer when you stop dismissing it, idealising it or asking it to prove your worth?

There is no nine-day deadline. Read and practise at a pace that lets the experience reach the work you are making.

Notice what is yours
And what keeps getting in the way

Which ideas still interest you after the imagined applause goes quiet.

When preparation is helping, and when it has become a beautiful place to hide.

What changes when you try a small version instead of deciding the whole future in your head.

The Creative Hero’s Journey by Camilla Wellton

An honest next step might be smaller than your fantasy and more useful than another month of thinking.

You are looking for enough clarity to act, enough curiosity to learn and enough flexibility to change your mind when real experience gives you something new.

For the work
That will not leave you alone

You are good at work you are no longer sure you want to keep doing.

You have several ideas and keep comparing imagined futures instead of trying one.

Your own interests live in the time left over after everybody else’s needs.

You want more than encouragement. You want a way to begin.

You do not need to become
A different kind of person

You may explain your ideas beautifully and still struggle to give them time. You may keep them private, make yourself useful or wait until you feel completely certain.

The book makes room for different responses without turning them into a permanent identity. Your responsibilities, relationships and actual circumstances belong in the exploration.

Give the idea a little reality

See what answers back

Think of the idea you keep saving for later. Not its grand future. One ordinary moment of making it.

A rough page on the desk. A first conversation. The afternoon you make room for it. The guided practices help you explore what that moment brings up, then choose something you can do outside the book.

No magnificent new self required. Just you, with a little more understanding and another option.

A few good questions

Before you decide

You can begin with several interests or a persistent sense that something is missing. Choose a workable example to carry through the chapters: a page, idea, offer, image or decision. Giving the question a form helps you notice what changes, instead of comparing imagined futures indefinitely.

Read short teachings, follow written exercises and recorded practices with my voice and original music, reflect, explore physical responses and sometimes draw. The practices return to an idea or project from your own life, so the experience has somewhere to go beyond the page.

No. Your creation may be a business, an offer, a way of working, a community project or a decision about what comes next. You do not need a creative job title. You need something you are willing to explore.

It combines reflection with teaching and guided experience. Rather than leaving you alone with a question, the written exercises and my recorded guidance offer different ways to explore it and connect what you notice to a practical next step.

Your responsibilities belong in the decision. You can explore something alongside the life you have. A small experiment may tell you more than an urgent declaration that everything must change.

The book explores what happens when imagining becomes personal: uncertainty, excitement, hesitation and the possibility of being seen. Interoception and attachment patterns offer useful perspectives. They do not mean every hesitation is a hidden problem or every exciting sensation is the right direction.

No. Essential ideas are introduced in ordinary language and connected to recognisable moments. The purpose is to help you use the knowledge, not to test whether you remember the terminology.

This is not an art test. Drawing is a way to explore, not a demand to produce a beautiful image. You can work with rough marks, words and whatever you notice. The aim is participation, not perfect visualisation.

The book’s accompanying material has its own access route. Aurora and the Practice Library are separate offerings; they are not additional purchases required to use material included with your book.

No. Nine chapters describe the structure, not a deadline. Give the practices time to reach your project and return to them when that is useful. You do not have to rush an experience to count it as progress.

No. This is a research-informed educational and creative experience, not diagnosis or treatment. The psychological ideas support the exploration; they do not establish a guaranteed outcome or a clinical evaluation of the complete book. Professional care remains a separate matter.

Publication is currently scheduled for 30 June 2027. The form invites you to receive eight weekly practice emails and updates about the book, including its sample or preorder invitation when available. I look forward to receiving emails.

Meet Aurora
The optional practice partner

Aurora is the I AWAKE practice partner being developed around the books and your own questions.

Perhaps a passage about asking for care sounds unexpectedly like the problem you have asking a collaborator for help. Perhaps two books seem to be meeting the same concern from different directions.

Her intended role is to help you explore those connections, work with the material you’ve chosen and consider a next step that fits what you bring. She isn’t there to assign you one path or tell you who you are.

Availability and access are explained with the current offering. You can use your book and its accompanying guidance and music without waiting for Aurora.

Your question can cross
More than one journey

Yes. That’s Not Me, a guided seven-day book of the Sensual Hero’s Journey, may help you explore the identity you feel obliged to keep while considering new work. The deck of the Hidden Hero’s Journey can give a decision another perspective.

Choose across the Three Hero Journeys of the I AWAKE universe. You don’t need the complete set of anything before your own question deserves attention.
