Desire is wanting: an attraction towards an experience, person, possibility or way of living.
It may be quiet. Persistent. Inconvenient to the life you have become very good at maintaining.
Before you explain why it is impractical, what is it?
More touch? A different kind of work? A morning nobody else has booked? A meal enjoyed slowly rather than eaten while solving something?
Naming a desire doesn’t commit you to acting on it. It lets you understand what the decision is actually about.
You may find a wish you want to pursue, one you want to adapt or one whose imagined rewards matter more than the thing itself. All are worth distinguishing before practicality silences the whole conversation.
