Inner technology

Inner technology is I AWAKE's language for deliberately developing the human capacities you use to notice, feel, imagine, choose, relate and create.

Inner technology is I AWAKE’s language for deliberately developing the human capacities you use to notice, feel, imagine, choose, relate and create.

Technology here doesn’t have to mean a device. It concerns ways of working with your own attention and experience through practices you can use.

You have tools for organising the day. What helps you inhabit it?

A calendar can reserve an hour for writing. It can’t, by itself, explain why you give that hour away whenever somebody asks.

A message can be perfectly drafted while your body prepares to apologise for sending it.

I AWAKE brings those human responses into the practice. The books, guided audio, writing and imaginal encounters are forms through which you explore what happens and try something different.

The term doesn’t make every practice a machine, and it doesn’t reduce a person to a system that needs optimising. The point is a more available relationship with the capacities you already use, including the ones pressure has made harder to reach.

Agency concerns the choices you can participate in. Self-intimacy keeps the relationship with yourself at the centre, rather than another project of efficient self-management.
