Liminality describes a threshold condition: a period in which something familiar has changed or ended, while what comes next isn’t yet settled.
A role no longer fits. A relationship has changed. The old introduction doesn’t feel accurate, and you don’t yet have a new one you want to give.
You don’t need a finished identity by Monday.
Uncertainty can create an understandable wish to define everything quickly. A new label or plan may help. It can also provide relief before you know whether it fits.
I AWAKE makes room for a period that isn’t neatly resolved. The Hidden Hero’s Journey explores change through its domains and the Circle cards of its deck. The cards can bring attention to a pause, a boundary or an in-between moment without deciding the outcome for you.
Ordinary support matters here: sleep, money, company, a workable routine. An unsettled period doesn’t become easier simply because it has an evocative name.
Threshold looks at approaching a change. Identity considers what happens when a familiar description no longer contains your experience.
