Posture is how you hold and organise your body in a moment, including the positions and relationships of its parts.
It can reflect comfort, activity, habit, fatigue and the demands of a setting. It doesn’t provide a secret translation of your personality.
You don’t need to sit like a person who has solved their life.
You might notice that you hold yourself differently while imagining a difficult conversation. Shoulders lifted. Breath restricted. A smile arriving before the words.
Those details may help you explore what the moment asks of you. They don’t prove one explanation on their own.
I AWAKE’s body-based practices invite attention to how you are physically participating. A small adjustment may make speaking or listening feel different. Sometimes it simply makes the chair more comfortable, which is also allowed to matter.
The goal isn’t a perfect pose. It is more choice and attention within the body you have.
Body awareness begins with noticing. Gesture follows the movement through which something is expressed, deliberately or before you find words.
The International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association’s About the Profession introduces learning through sensing and movement. It offers context beyond judging posture only by appearance.
