A symbol is an image, object or figure that can hold meanings beyond its literal appearance.
A door may bring questions about access, possibility, privacy or refusal. Which meaning matters depends on the particular door, the context and your response.
Before deciding what it means, notice what it is doing.
Is the door open? Locked? Something you want to enter? Something you are grateful to close?
The details can change the question. A symbol doesn’t need a single official answer to be useful.
