Sensorial Scenecraft is a practice named in I Want It All, a guided seven-day book of the Sensual Hero’s Journey, for giving a desired experience a small, specific imagined scene you can explore through the senses.
Not the trailer for a perfect life. A moment you can actually get close to.
What would enjoying it feel like?
You imagine a meal with someone you love. The light, the sound of their voice, enough time to taste the food. Perhaps what matters most isn’t the impressive setting. It’s not being responsible for keeping everything going.
The detail helps you understand the desire more clearly.
This isn’t a promise that imagining an outcome will cause it to happen. It is a way to explore what you want, what your body does around receiving it and which part could have a place in ordinary life.
A smaller scene can reveal more than a grand declaration of wanting everything.
Desire looks at the wish. Sensory attention makes experience more particular, while receiving asks what happens when something wanted comes close.
