Reality is layered

The Six Domains offer a way to read that complexity

First domain

The House

House is the domain of identity.

It includes the names, roles, loyalties, self-descriptions, permissions, reputations, and belonging agreements through which a person knows who they are.

Some rooms were built deliberately. Others were inherited. Some make a life possible. Some have become too small, but remain familiar enough to feel like home.

House asks what becomes visible when identity itself enters the inquiry.

Second domain

The Garden

Garden is the domain of personal emotion.

It explores the feelings present in an experience, the conditions around them, and the way emotion can grow, mix, recede, or remain difficult to name.

Anger may stand beside grief. Relief may arrive with guilt. Joy can feel vulnerable. Longing may be tender one moment and urgent the next. Numbness may be part of the emotional landscape without being an absence of all feeling.

Garden makes room for this complexity without turning emotion into proof.

Third domain

The sky

Sky is the domain of perception.

It includes attention, thought, interpretation, expectation, mental imagery, and the frames through which some details become obvious while others disappear.

Perception is not a camera recording a neutral world.

It is active, selective, and shaped by state, learning, context, and purpose.

This does not mean nothing is real.

It means contact with reality improves when we can examine the lens as well as the scene.

Fourth domain

The Forest

Forest is the domain of instinct, procedural memory, inner parts, and archetypal patterning.

It is where the hand withdraws, the body leans in, the joke appears, the route is avoided, the role is assumed, or the pattern begins before a polished explanation has arrived.

Forest is not irrationality.

Nor is instinct automatically pure, ancient truth.

Fast responses can contain learning, protection, skill, bias, memory, and context in combinations that are not immediately visible.

The task is to notice what moved without appointing it king.

Fifth domain

The Ocean

Ocean is the domain of family, culture, history, ancestry, and inheritance.

Long before an individual makes a conscious choice, a world has supplied language, values, warnings, silences, categories, rituals, permissions, and ideas about what a life should be.

Some inheritances are named. Others feel like common sense.

Ocean asks what larger current may be moving through a personal story.

Sixth domain

Space

Space is the domain of awareness.

It includes the capacity to notice experience, thought, emotion, identity, and pattern without becoming identical to the first thing that appears.

It also includes uncertainty, scale, silence, and the limits of what can currently be known.

A person can rise into abstraction, universal meaning, spiritual language, or endless meta-analysis and leave the practical situation untouched.

A beautiful perspective is not a substitute for an apology, evidence, a boundary, a medical appointment, a budget, or sleep.

Space therefore holds two movements: opening and returning.
